Intra-Club Competition - Now With A Point System!



☭ Greetings Comrades!

The KGB inner club homebrew competition divides all of the BJCP styles into 4 seasonal categories. Starting in 2019, we are now adding a point system for the winners of each competition. Points will be tallied (and posted) throughout the year to determine the KGB's most coveted honor - The Homebrewer of the Year!


-Point System-

First Place - 5 points
Second Place - 4 points
Third Place - 3 points
Honorable Mention - 1 point

Entry limit per competition: 2
Bottles per entry - 2 

The 2015 BJCP style guidelines can be found HERE. These guidelines give an in-depth look at each style, and cover all aspects of what is expected. Aroma, Appearance, Flavor, Mouthfeel, ect. There is also an app available for Apple and Android phones.

Each season, all beers are judged using the AHA/ BJCP score sheet. A copy of the score sheet can be found HERE. All club members are encouraged to come and help judge the intra-club competitions. Stewards are also needed and appreciated. It is a great opportunity to learn about the judging process, especially for those who are interested in becoming a BJCP certified judge. The intra-club competition is open to all KGB club members. Good luck to all who enter, and may the best comrade win!
